Next Up.

Back by popular demand (and not just from Nate and Rob!) the Lompoc C-Note is coming back on tap. Here's a little description from our friends at Lompoc Brewing: To call C-Note very hoppy would be an understatement. It's brewed with the seven "C" hops (Crystal, Cluster, Cascade, Chinook, Centennial, Columbus and Challenger) and pushes the bitterness limit to 100 International Bitterness Units.

And next up on our 'dark' list, we have 10 Barrel Brewing's Sinister Black. Here's a run down on this delicious new selection: We craft our S1NIST0R BLACK ALE using a special German dehusked black malt that is free of astringency, giving the beer a rich black color without the traditional dark beer characteristics. You will notice subtle hints of chocolate with an easy drinking balance on the back end. In the glass the dark color may look intimidating to some, but don't let this beer fool you. Our unique combination of malts creates a very light body and smooth finish.

Look for these here soon! For now, we still have Southern Oregon Brewing Company's Porter and Pale Horse's Hillbilly Blonde - come get some before it's gone!

S.O.B.

Next up on tap, we have Southern Oregon Brewing's Porter (S.O.B. - clever, right?) We're lucky enough to even have a little back story on this tasty selection: the beer genius behind Deschutes Brewing's Black Butte Porter has since left Deschutes and joined the team at Southern Oregon Brewing to create the S.O.B. Porter. Nate and Rob can't wait to give this one a try!

We still have Deschutes Brewing's Jubelale and Pale Horse's Hillbilly Blonde - come in for a pint before they are gone!

Dine Out 4 Youth

**Thanks to everyone who came out and participated in this year's Dine Out 4 Youth!**

Willamette Burger Company is proud to participate in this year's Dine Out 4 Youth campaign - come in for dinner Thursday, December 3rd and help support our local Youth Impact Mentoring program!

(And if you don't feel like burgers, our friends at Willamette Noodle Company are participating too!)

ETA: Several people have asked what Youth Impact is...Youth Impact is a local non-profit that matches at risk youth with mentors. It's a great program and we're so excited to be a part of Dine Out 4 Youth this year!

Happy Thanksgiving.

Your friends at Willamette Burger Company wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with turkey, potatoes and lots of PIE.

Next on Tap.

We're all out of the Lompoc C-Note - that was a popular one! Next up, we have the winter seasonal from Deschutes Brewing - the Jubelale has smooth malt body with a hoppy finish. Delicious! And, thanks to a suggestion from one of our awesome blog readers, we are bringing in Pale Horse's Hillbilly Blonde. Thanks OceanKarma for that great suggestion! The Hillbilly is a classic style blonde ale. We'll be getting that as soon as the Ninkasi is out - come get a pint before it's gone!

And, as always, we love to hear suggestions on what we should get next - Northwest breweries only, please :]

Just got the word that we now have the Pale Horse Stout in 12 oz bottles as well!

Thanksgiving.

We will be closed for business Thursday, the 26th and Friday, the 27th of November so that our employees can spend Thanksgiving with their families. We'll be back open on Saturday, the 28th for all you early holiday shoppers!

Hope you have a happy and safe Thanksgiving!

Specials.

We get asked this every day - do you have any specials? My response is always, "Everything on our menu is special!" But in all seriousness, we DO plan on doing a special 'Burger of the Month,' and (once we can find a local source for cookies) a special 'Ice Cream Sandwich of the Month.'

Unfortunately, with the holidays coming up, our families AND our customers keeping us busier than ever, we haven't been able to devote any time to creating new things. Hopefully by the start of the year we'll be ready!

In the meantime, try ordering something 'off' menu. There is ALWAYS the option to 'build your own' burger. My favorite? Goat cheese and EXTRA crispy bacon. You never know, one of your creations might someday make it onto our menu!

Veteran's Day.

In an effort to honor the thousands of veteran's that have served our country (including some of our staff - we love you Jeff!) we are running a special this Veteran's Day. With the purchase of a sandwich, any veteran with a military I.D. can have a fountain soda, coffee or iced tea on us!

Everyone here at Willamette Burger Company wants to thank our wonderful veteran's for the sacrifices they have made for us - this day is for YOU.

On Tap.

One of Rob and Nate's greatest passions (other than burgers!) is beer. So we've made it our mission to find some of the best local beer around - stuff you can't find just anywhere. We have two on tap at a time and when they're gone, they're GONE. Part of the fun for us is being able to try something new and different every time.

Right now we have Redhook's Blackhook Porter, a delicious and dark porter. Unfortunately, Redhook is discontinuing this particular beer, so once this keg is gone, it's gone for good. We were lucky to get one of the last in existence! And since the last Ninkasi we had (their winter seasonal, Sleigher) was such a hit, we've brought them back into our mix with their Oatis, a yummy oatmeal stout.

It's anyone's guess as to what we'll have on tap on any given week (though I do know we have a pale ale from Lompoc waiting in the wings once Blackhook is gone) so be sure to check in here to get the scoop. And if you have any suggestions, please let us know! Our only requirement is that they be brewed in the Northwest and that they are DELICIOUS!

Peace, Love & BEER -- Sarah

ETA: I'm sure this isn't going to be the last time this happens, but I was wrong about which beer we had coming up next! We now have Lompoc's Imperial Ale, a fruity pale ale with a smooth finish to replace our Widmer seasonal. Look for the Ninkasi Oatis here soon!

Hello. I'm an absent blogger.

Between a VERY busy first 3 weeks and a computer malfunction at home, I've been a very a sad excuse for a blogger.

That aside, our first few weeks have been AWESOME. We've seen a lot of old friends from WNC (and made some new ones too.)

The best part? Seeing so many return customers already. From all of us at WBC - thank you to EVERYONE that has come to see us. We hope to see you again soon!

Let them eat pie.

We could talk all day about this pie.
Handcrafted and lovingly baked by Uncle Ray at Fordyce Farms, this pie is something to write home about. Seriously.
Right now we have apple-blackberry (A-MAZING) and pecan pie.
Our selection changes with Uncle Ray's mood - once we're out, it's anyone's guess as to what we'll be getting next! Follow us on Twitter at @willametteburgr to get daily pie updates.

Converting one vegetarian at a time.

We've had a lot of questions regarding the absence of a veggie burger on our menu. Our standing on this is simple: we refuse to serve products processed, manufactured or heavily laden with additives or preservatives. Our goal is to bring food back to the basics - delicious, local and handcrafted. That being said, Rob and Nate do plan on creating an all vegetarian patty at some point - but they want to take their time and do it right. So for now, we won't have one on our menu.

I would like to shamelessly toot our own horn for a moment - a good (and mostly vegetarian) friend of ours sampled Aunt Jenny's Mushroom Burger and had this to say: "I rarely eat meat and I ate EVERY SINGLE BITE. And I'll be coming back for more!" We're glad we could sway you Catherine!

And for those vegetarians we can't sway - we do have an AMAZING portobello mushroom cap stuffed with creamy havarti cheese to tickle your tastebuds.

We are still ironing out the kinks but look for our open sign - it'll be lit SOON.
